Members of Hinchingbrooke and St Ivo Lodges recently attended Woodlands Centre at Hinchingbrooke Hospital to present a donation of £14,400, accompanied by WBro Francis Margot, APGM, and WBro Mick Warren, Provincial Grand Charity Steward.
The funds were raised through two successful Ladies Festivals and associated fundraising events organised during their year by the Worshipful Masters of the two Lodges, Albert Bareham and Trevor Clarke. Successful application to the Provincial Grand Charity further enhanced the total, resulting in a substantial contribution.
The charity holds particular significance for Bro Albert, who underwent chemotherapy at Woodlands every third Friday for eighteen months following a cancer diagnosis in 2020 and attributes his recovery to the care and compassion shown by the Unit’s staff and volunteers. Bro Francis has also experienced firsthand the dedication that characterises Woodlands Centre.
The donation is given as an expression of gratitude and will be used to upgrade essential treatment pumps and refurbish the refreshment area, improving facilities for patients, carers, and volunteers.
