Webb Ellis Team Up With Old Scouts Rugby Club

Webb Ellis Lodge, which is the rugby focused special interest in our Province, has taken an important step in strengthening its connection with the wider rugby community by taking a pitch-side sponsorship hoarding at the Old Scouts Rugby Club in Northampton. This initiative reflects the Lodge’s commitment to engaging directly with players, supporters, and families who share a passion for the sport and its values.

Rugby has long been celebrated for its camaraderie, teamwork, and respect and these same qualities are also very much found within Freemasonry. By placing its name prominently at the Old Scouts ground, Webb Ellis Lodge aims to highlight these shared values and show local rugby enthusiasts that Freemasonry can offer be a supportive and welcoming team off the pitch.

Webb Ellis Lodge sees this partnership as more than simple sponsorship. It is an opportunity to spark conversations, build relationships, and demonstrate that Freemasonry is modern, inclusive membership organisation, which is very much aligned with the spirit of community already thriving within rugby clubs. Furthermore, they hope that players and supporters alike will recognise familiar principles such as mutual encouragement, fellowship, and personal growth which can also be found in Freemasonry.

For many rugby fans, their rugby club is like a second home. Webb Ellis Lodge hopes to show that Freemasonry can be a natural extension of that environment: a place where the bonds formed on the field can continue, evolve, and support individuals throughout their lives. By engaging with Old Scouts RFC, Webb Ellis Lodge is excited to open new doors, make new connections, and proudly demonstrate that Freemasonry can be another team of which to be a part.
