Those were the words echoing around the room each time the twenty-six candidates were restored to light during an evening that will long be remembered in Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire.
What began as an ambitious idea — to Exalt 25 candidates into the Royal Arch in a single meeting — was met with understandable curiosity and no small amount of caution. Abingdon Chapter who hosted the event, supported by the Provincial Team, dispelled any doubts with a ceremony that proved to be as precise as it was colourful, and as inspirational as it was historic.
Meticulous planning, dedicated rehearsals and a shared sense of purpose came together to produce a truly exceptional display of heartfelt and engaging Royal Arch ritual. In the end, 26 candidates experienced Exaltation together, each one clearly moved by the dignity and atmosphere of the occasion. Their excitement was matched only by that of the Companions who had gathered to witness such a rare and uplifting event.
The Grand Communications Team were also in attendance, conducting live interviews with candidates and members of the Provincial Team for a forthcoming Solomon Live feature. (Members will be notified when the broadcast date is announced.)
This remarkable evening is already being spoken of as one of the finest displays of Royal Arch ritual seen in the Province. The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent has expressed his pride in every Companion whose hard work, commitment and passion made this historic ceremony possible.
A number of the newly Exalted Companions will remain with Abingdon Chapter, while the others will now go on to join the Northampton Chapters of their choice — carrying with them a shared experience that will surely bind them together throughout their Royal Arch journey.
