The latest of four Masonic Trout & Salmon Fishing Charity (MTSFC) course fishing events to be held this year took place at Browns Fishery, Great Addington on Thursday 8th May 2025 and despite slightly colder weather, a great day was had by all.
We were delighted to have present Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Francis Margot together with many volunteers who at each event help with the various tasks including setting up before hand, support work on the day providing expert fishing guidance, health & safety, cooking and much more.
There were 20 participant guests from two units and all enjoyed what was in some cases, their first experience of fishing in the countryside. The day started slowly, but soon 'shouts' were being heard around the lake and MTSFC Photographer Trevor Pywell was sent rushing here and there to 'catch' the moments for the records.
Lunch was provided once again by Darren Garley, who with the help of a great catering crew quickly served everyone with burgers, hot dogs and drinks.
At the end of the day, certificates were presented to all the participants , who unanimously agreed, that the day was a complete success and thanked all those who had made the event so enjoyable.
MTSFC Chairman Peter Chown (above) explained, 'Our next event is on 12th June 2025 and we are always in need of volunteers. If anyone would like to help either the day or day before for the setting up, you would be most welcome to join us in our work helping young people. Do contact Chairman Peter by email
