Masonic Blood, sweat and toil

Not so much of the sweat and toil on this occasion, but certainly blood!

The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, E Comp Jim Boughton was on hand to welcome Brethren and Companions from across the Province at the year’s final session of the Royal Arch and Craft PSA Testing Initiative held at Corby Centre on Saturday 13 April 2024.

Nurses from the Graham Fulford Charitable Trust were busy with one hundred and forty-eight masons from both Royal Arch and Craft attending the session to provide a small blood sample and afterwards shared a cup of tea and biscuits laid on by the Corby Masonic Centre.

MEGS Jim Boughton said “ I urge every member of the Province to take a regular test. We know from previous year’s results that members with no apparent symptoms, have received ‘red letters’ and after referral for investigation received life -saving treatment. Early intervention saves lives. I am particularly grateful to Graham Minett for his tireless work in organising our Prostate Cancer Screening Programme and to his team of regular assistants who willingly give of their time to help others”.
