At the Socrates Lodge 201st Installation on Tuesday 16th January the Provincial Grand Master RW Bro Mark Constant took WBro Brian Gebbels by surprise, presenting him his 50yr Jubilee Certificate at the same time regaling Bro Brian’s impressive masonic career to the Brethren.

Serving at RAF Kinloss, Scotland, and attending a Gliding Instructor’s course at RAF Bicester, at his father’s behest, as a Lewis Brian was initiated into Weyland Lodge No6507 in October 1973. Subsequent postings and tours made regular attendance difficult, especially a posting to Rheindahlen. Undeterred he joined Star of Saxony Lodge under the jurisdiction of the United Grand Lodge of Germany, where his commitment to Masonry saw him promoted to Past Grand Standard Bearer but unfortunately this was not recognised by UGLE on his return in 1988. Now a Warrant Officer, he re-started his masonic career afresh with Socrates Lodge, where his dedication and diligence resulted in promotions to PPJGW. Completing his masonic journey, WBro Brian was Exalted into Socrates Royal Arch Chapter in 1994 where his fervency and zeal have seen him serve as First Principal of The Chapter of First Principals and appointment to Supreme Grand Chapter rank in 2015.
