The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, EComp Jim Boughton was delighted to be able to congratulate to EComp John Payne for his promotion, along with EComp Russel Laxton and EComp Mick Smith on receiving their first appointments to Grand Rank at the Supreme Grand Chapter Investiture meeting held at Great Queen Street, London on Thursday 25th April 2024.

 The Pro First Grand Principal commented that that this was one of the busiest meetings held for a very long time with a number of companions struggling to be seated.

Our Most Excellent Grand Superintendent then hosted a well-attended Provincial Lunch held at the Ambassador Hotel where a special presentation was made to Companion John Wooding to recognise his outstanding tenure as the Provincial Grand Janitor from 2008 to 2024. Companion John was presented with a beautifully crafted “Janitors Scene” engraved with the words “Time now for proper Janitor work”.

Following the lunch many of the Companions managed to find their way to the nearby Skinners Arms for a spot of post lunch liquid refreshment.
