The Lodge was both honoured and privileged to welcome the Past Deputy Grand Master, Sir David Hugh Wootton, who delivered an engaging and insightful address on the principles of the “Third Pillar” initiative, focusing on the vital role Freemasons play in serving and supporting their communities. Sir David spoke passionately about the importance of community engagement, highlighting how Freemasonry continues to make a meaningful difference beyond the Lodge room. In particular, he warmly complimented the Province of Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire for its wide-ranging and innovative initiatives. In a light-hearted moment, he remarked that he might well take some of these ideas back to London and pass them off as his own—a comment that drew much amusement from those present.

Those in attendance clearly valued the opportunity to hear first-hand about the impact being made, with the lecture serving as both a source of inspiration and a reminder of the importance of the “Third Pillar” in modern Freemasonry.

Following the meeting, the evening continued with a lively and well-attended festive board, where conversation flowed freely and the strong sense of camaraderie was evident, rounding off an excellent occasion in fine Masonic tradition. RWBro Sir David was presented with an engraved “Quaich”, a shared drinking cup, as well as “something to go in it”, a local Gin from the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Mark Constant.
