An evening of music, laughter and generosity at Wellingborough Masonic Hall has resulted in a fantastic £900 being raised for Teddies For Loving Care.
On Saturday 21st February, the five current Worshipful Masters of the Wellingborough Craft Lodges – WBro Kev Barton, Steve Patrick, John Simpson, David Mander and Steve Baldock – joined forces, supported by Claire Desborough and Clare Patrick, to present a musical concert entitled Masters of the House.
Performing to an audience of 80 guests, the Masters showcased a lively and varied programme featuring well-loved songs from the world of musical theatre, classic Sinatra favourites, and a rousing old-time sing-along that had the whole room in full voice.
Guests also enjoyed a simple supper prepared by the local catering team, with the bar open throughout the evening, creating a relaxed atmosphere befitting the occasion. The audience’s appreciation was clear—not only in their applause but also in their generosity. Contributions to a bumper raffle helped ensure the evening was not only entertaining but highly successful in its charitable purpose. The £900 raised will support TLC. The teddys presented to children are small but powerful gifts help comfort and calm children experiencing distress, illness or trauma—offering reassurance at moments when it is needed most.
The Masters would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone who attended, supported, donated prizes, and contributed so generously. It was a superb example of what can be achieved when Lodges work together in friendship and for the benefit of the wider community.
