What a wonderful evening the 150th Anniversary of St Peter’s Chapter turned out to be! On Thursday 20th November 2025, exactly 50 years to the day of the Centenary celebrations, the oldest Chapter in Peterborough welcomed over 30 guests - including The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, The Deputy Grand Superintendent, The 2nd and 3rd Grand Principals, the Past Deputy Grand Superintendent, 21 Active Officers of Provincial Grand Chapter, together with representatives from Gildenburgh, Dr Oliver, St Andrews, Chichley, St Ivo, Pemberton, Abingdon, Socrates, Nil Sin Labore, Fidelity, St Crsipin, Thistle & Rose, Euston and Waynfleet Chapters.
After the exaltation of Bro Brian Aird of St Peter’s Lodge, MEGS presented the Chapter’s newest Companion with the much-sort-after ‘Royal Arch/Craft’ pin badge. Those in attendance were then treated to a presentation of the 150 year history of St Peter’s by E.Comp Craig Bunday – an abridged version of a specially printed booklet to Commemorate the evening.
At the Festive Board, MEGS replied to his toast by thanking the Provincial Officers for their support on the night, congratulating the Members and Officers of St Peter’s for the work in the Chapter Room, and informed those present of notable events that took place in St Peter’s year of Consecration. The same year, MEGS noted, that his own Chapter – Montagu in Stamford – was consecrated; Montagu being the older Chapter by a few months.
All those in attendance were then presented with the aforementioned Anniversary Booklet, and St Peter’s members, a commemorative pin badge. After the toast to the three principals by E.Comp Tony Wiltshire, MEZ – E.Comp Keith Gill – replied and thanked all of the visitors, who’s company ensured that St Peter’s Chapter 150th Anniversary will live long in the memory.
