This week at Socrates Lodge No 373, WBro Peter Stringer, PPSGD, was presented with a 50-year Golden Jubilee Certificate to mark the 50th anniversary of his Initiation into Freemasonry. The APGM, Francis Margôt, presented the certificate, accompanied by a short outline of Bro Peter’s service to others. Including nine years of service in the Army and a Chief Constable's Commendation for bravery in assisting to save the life of a police officer and a member of the public, dragging them both to safety in a traumatic incident.

Initiated into Dacre Lodge 2086 on 15th March 1975, he became Worshipful Master in 1986 before assuming Almoner duties, caring for others, for many years.
Upon joining Socrates Lodge in 2015, Bro Peter again served as a well-respected and dedicated Almoner and Mentor to younger members. Bro. Peter’s lifetime of service is a magnificent example of the principles and values we hold dear.
