An official visit to Daventry in 2002 when he was Provincial Grand Superintendent of Works had a lasting effect on WBro Roly Scotney.  During the visit he heard for the first time of Helping Hands, a Daventry based charity.  He was so impressed that he resolved to do what he could to help the charity for which he has now raised various amounts.

His latest efforts were assisted by members of Town and Country No 9580, Chicheley No 607 and Old Kimboltonians.  Their fund raising was supplemented by the Provincial Grand Charity.  This enabled Roly to present Trustees Ian Spencer and Claire Lister with a cheque for £5,000 on Friday 19 December 2014.

In receiving the cheque Ian Spencer said

We are a local charity and donations such as this are so important to us.  They enable us to provide support to local children with a variety of illnesses and disabilities.  We thank all the Masons who have contributed.
