Heartstart Oundle have been providing emergency life-support training for the people of Oundle & District since 2011.

Their practical training sessions are free and held at Oundle Surgery and other venues in the local area. The sessions cover the actions to be taken in the event of sudden collapse, heart attack, cardiac arrest, choking, and severe bleeding.

Attendees are taught about the recovery position; also, the use of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillators.

The techniques taught by Heartstart can dramatically improve a casualty’s chance of survival and recovery whilst waiting for the emergency services to arrive.

The Heartstart team are all volunteers, trained by, and affiliated to, the British Heart Foundation. The scheme is funded entirely by voluntary contributions.

To book a place on a Heartstart session; or to arrange a session for your club, organisation, school or neighbourhood; please contact Trevor on 01832-273401 or Alan on 01832-270934.

Many congratulations to the brethren of St Wilfrid Lodge for supporting such a worthy cause.
