WBro Mike Howells

Mike will work alongside WBro Nigel Dickens representing the Northampton Lodges on the Provincial Communications Committee.

Mike is taking over this role from WBro Andy Moore, who is stepping down after many years of excellent service. We thank Andy for his significant contribution to the Committee.

Mike and his wife Betty moved to Northampton 24-years ago, shortly after leaving the Army where he served nearly 25-years as a technician and engineer in the Royal Corps of Signals.

Mike had an exemplary military career seeing service in the UK, Cyprus and Germany. He worked in many roles from workshop technician to Troop Commander. He rose to the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1.

After leaving the Forces, Mike joined Fujitsu, where his career continued in a similar vein. He worked as a Training Manager at their factory-base in Birmingham.

Working for a Global Telecommunications Company, one with some 180,000 employees worldwide, gave Mike the opportunity to travel. He has trained thousands of engineers in Europe, the Far East, Australia and USA, including a large number from BT. He enjoyed his time with Fujitsu very much, right up until retiring in 2013.

Happily married for more than 35 years, Mike and Betty enjoy living in Northampton. They attend St Andrews Church in Great Billing where they both served as church wardens.

Mike joined Piscator Lodge No. 7557 (which meets in Northampton) in 2010. He was installed as Worshipful Master in 2015 and is now Secretary, a role he enjoys very much.

Mike is also a member and officer of other orders including Abington Chapter, Piscator Chapter, and St Crispin Rose Croix.

He enjoys his Freemasonry very much indeed and says his single regret in life is not joining it sooner!

We congratulate Mike on his appointment and wish him every success in his new role.
