The Association was founded in 1934 with the express intention of raising a 100 guinea contribution to the 1936 Festival for the RMBI. The contribution was successfully raised and it was decided to continue the Association.

Since then the annual contributions totalling several thousand pounds have been made to all Masonic Charities.

An annual Stapleford competition is held for the Harries-Jones Individual Trophy, the Humphries-Jones Lodge Salver (teams of three), the Secretary's Shield (best Lodge Golf Charities). This competition is organised by the Association Secretary and details are made to Lodge Golf Representatives.

The Brian Smith Inter-Lodge Knock-Out Trophy is played for annually. Representative matches are played against the Provinces of Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.
